Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!
Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.

My weekend was great! Friday night I went out to dinner with J and family to Bridget's, which was amazing.  After that we headed to The Lucky Well, owned by Chad Rosenthal (if you watch Food Network you might know who he is - he was on Next Food Network Star and Star Salvation).  His restaurant is great, he is always there whenever we head in there on the weekends and he always stops by the table to say "hello."
(pre-dinner photo opt, such a good sport)

Seafood Paella from Bridget's (amazing)

Scallops over Polenta App - Bridget's

Jarred and I got the Surf and Turf Entree Block for 2 - Lobster w/ stuffed Crab, Scampi Scallops and Shrimp and Filet - Bridget's (sooo good)

After having a very lazy Saturday morning we headed to the Phillies Game.  My dad and brother are both in a Union and they have a Family Day tailgate each year, which is always a blast.  I wish I had gotten more photos at the tailgate.  It was difficult while chasing 5 toddlers all over. :)  They had a blast though.

(showing off their new tat's)

After the tailgate some of us headed into the game.  It was my niece's first Phillies Game and she had an absolute blast.  As soon as she would hear the crowd cheering and clapping she stopped what she was doing to join the clapping, it was great.

my girl's first game

We left the game while they were still winning, saw a great 4 innings, which is better than most games they've played recently.  This season hasn't been hot for them, total bummer and of course they lost the game after we left.  Better luck next year guys.

Hope everyone has a great week! Only a few more weeks of summer vacation left until school starts up...

Welcome

Hi all!
And welcome to my new blog.  To learn  more about me read the About Me page.
My name is Elyse and I created this blog to document my life and all of my little DIY projects.
Up first which is just about complete is my recipe book creation.  I decided this summer break that there were 2 goals I wanted to accomplish, (1) create a blog (check!) and (2) clean up all my pinterest recipes (all 500+ of them, what was I thinking?!?!).  This one can ALMOST get a check complete.
First, I filtered through all the recipes and selected those I found worthy of getting put into a recipe book.
After that I copy and pasted all the recipes into a word template I created to fit in my "mini" binder size recipe book.
Once that was done, I had about 150 recipes, printed them all out.  Threw them into binder sleeves and added them to the binder! Done! Took a few full days to do this, thank god for summer vaca.

Up next, I have a few old family recipes I want to add to a recipe box.  I found recipe cards and a box holder both on etsy, just waiting on their arrival.  I only have about 20 recipes to hand write onto cards so this shouldn't take too long to get done.

After I get the recipes in order I'll be tackling bar stools turned nightstands.
Stay tuned.
