TGIFF

Thank God It's Friday Favorites!!

The happiest of all Friday's for me.  This was my first week back to work so I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am that it is Friday. HOORAY!! Summer went way too fast for me but I am so glad to have summer breaks. So I'll try to keep my complaining to a minimum.

Anyway, here is today's edition of Friday Favorites - featuring where I am headed after work today, THE BEACH! :)

Some of my favorite photos taken at the shore over the last year or so I'm sure if you follow me on Instagram you've seen most of these (eklemm).

Have a fantastic weekend! Hopefully the weather is great at the shore and I can soak up the last of the summer.

My Weekend in FOOD

Hi everyone!

I'm a little late on my weekend post, work started back up yesterday and I was swamped.

Anyways this weekend I pretty much spent stuffing my face with my favorite food.

But first let's start of with some Saturday morning cam wow selfies and video's of  some cutie babes winking.

(Note I look gross in these photos but Dean is adorable)

Saturday night Jarred and I went to Corked in Bethlehem for dinner, we were given a giftcard for Christmas from his Aunts so we were excited to finally put it to use.

We started with the mussels because lately we've been obsessed.  They were just okay.  Seasoned fantastically but had absolutely no broth and were the tiniest mussels I've ever seen.  And the bread was more like a crouton.  I like using the bread to sop up all of that mussel juice, yummyyy.
So kind of disappointing for us but tasty.

Next we both were served a wedge salad with our meals.  This was by far the best salad I've ever eaten.  The dressing was on point.  I would go back just for this salad alone.

My entree was 4oz filet, I added seasoned shrimp.  It came with veggies and I got to choose my starch, I chose mashed.  Everything was fantastic.  The steak is served with herbed butter, yum.  The shrimp were meh next time I would do with the 6oz filet and pass on the shrimp.  The steak was phenomenal.  The last steak Jarred and I had out was from Barclay Prime in Philadelphia.  I got waygu filet, seriously if you've never been to Barclay Prime and live near Philly -GO.  But prepared to spend $$$$$$.  So anyway back to Corked coming from having waygu out last month this filet was excellent.  I was expecting to be disappointed but was not.

Jarred's meal - he got the NY strip and wedge potatoes.  I hate a bite of his steak and it was great! He did tell me everything on his plate was amazing as well.
Two thumbs up from us Corked and we will be back.

Then on Sunday Morning we went to breakfast at Full of Crepe in Bethlehem.

Outstanding coffee, some of the best I've had.  It's freshly ground pour over coffee.

Sorry I didn't get a photo of it when it came out.  (They were originally take out only) so they wrap them and put them into a sleeve. Now they have a few tables and a counter to sit and eat at.)  I was too excited to wait to take a photo, but did remember after I dug in.
I got the nutella and berry crepe - so freaking good.  Lately Jarred and I have been on a crepe kick and this place is by far the best one we've been to.
Jarred got the Turkey Lurkee crepe -boar's head over gold turkey, mozzarella, spinach, tomato, and pesto mayo drizzled with balsamic reduction, he also added an over easy egg and loved every second of it.

The most adorable penny counter with beautiful stone tiled walls.

Full of Crepe you are amazing and I cannot wait to come back.

All of these reviews will be added to yelp.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Enjoy your week.

Friday Favs

Happy Friday Friends!
Today's Friday Favorites are things that are top on my want (OK, let's not pretend, NEED) list. :)
 1. Cardigan - Seriously obsessing over this sweater.  I have been looking at it for days and am going to take the plunge today (pay day!! WOOT) and finally buy it.
2. Bar Cart - I think the first purchase I make when I move out will definitely be a bar cart.  They are so cute! And fun to decorate of course.  The has been my favorite bar cart for a while now but of course target doesn't sell it anymore.  Lame.  You can find a similar (and equally adorable) one here though.
3.  Framed Instagram Photos - I am obsessed with my instagram photos, who isn't??! Prinstagram does the best job printing these for you to display.  I usually get just the photos and put them on a memory board.  But I think I might class it up next time I order and get them framed.
4.  Converse - I will buy these next summer! I bought the dark grey color this summer and love them.  The white are adorable though and I must own them!
5.  Kendra Scott Necklace - I so wish i could afford this necklace.  It's perfect.  Maybe in a few months I'll be able to afford it.  It would make every outfit 100x times better.  :)
Hope you have a fabulous weekend.  I'm off to the beach house today.  Then home tomorrow for date night with my love!
Back to work for me on Monday, where did those 7 weeks go!?!??!

Bar stool turned night table

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I know I missed my Friday Favorites post but I have a good reason! I was busy working on my last DIY of summer.

I came across this site at one point a little while ago, probably courtesy of pinterest I'm sure.  And decided that this would be perfect for my bedroom at my parents beach house. After months (almost a year) of searching for the perfect night table for a tiny space and having no success.

I started out by searching for the right size bar stool (24").  I looked at local thrift stores and came up empty handed.  Luckily I scored these two from target for only $33 for the pair.  I know that might seem like a lot but most of the ones I was coming across online shopping were no less than $50!!! No thank you.  So I was happy to end up with these.

Then I made my way to home depot and Lowes to find the perfect color spray paint.  I lucked out at Lowes finding Valspar's Nautical color.  Grabbed a sander and some sisal and took off to the shore this past week to get this project done.

All my supplies

First step - sand these stools for days or until your arm is about to fall off.  You want to get the glossy layer off the chairs before you spray paint.  Be prepared to get covered in sand dust.  I did this outside so it wasn't too bad.

Next - Spray paint the stools.   Make sure you do this outside or in a well ventilated area. The spray goes far not to mention it stinks.  I had some issues with this step.  I wanted to make sure I got underneath the stool first that way the top would be last in hopes of keeping the top looking as nice as possible.  It was the best way.  However, as you can in the photo above, the newspaper was blowing all over the place.  The first stool I painted the sides of the "seat" portion before standing it upright.  Big mistake.  The newspaper blew into the painted sides and glued itself to the paint.  Whoops.  Re-sanded the sides and learned my lesson.

Finished the stool upright which came out amazing.  Repeat above for the second stool.

Then because you can't feel your arms from sanding.  And it starts raining just as soon as you start painting the second stool.  Treat yourself to some wine or in my case a tall glass of sangria.

Day 2 - Once the stools are completely dry I added the sisal (a type of rope) to make shelves. They have different sizes of sisal I used the strongest one they had.  For this step all I did was wrap the sisal around the bars of the stool to make two shelves.  I used a hot glue gun to make sure it stayed in place and was nice and tight. (Note - I ran out of sisal, I had the one package and needed to buy 2 more)

Finished!! :)

It was the perfect size for the tiny space between my bed and the wall.  The color is perfect.  And look how cute the shelves came out! :)

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! Or at least as happy as one can be on a Monday.  Monday's are my least favorite day, especially since work will be starting again soon.

Friday Jarred and I went to the Burn it Down Tour with Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line.

We went down early and tailgated during the day since Jarred gets done work on Fridays at 10am.

The concert was great. Florida Georgia Line was absolutely amazing. Sorry about my lack of photos this weekend! I'll do better next weekend.

Saturday we were supposed to head to Bethlehem for Musikfest. But didn't make it due to bus schedules. Instead we ended up hanging out at one of Jarred's friends houses. We had a great time sitting around talking and playing games.

Next weekend we will definitely make it to Musikfest since we have Weezer tickets! Ahh I cannot wait.

This week I'll be spending my time at the shore and hopefully starting my bar stools turned nighttable project.

For now I'll leave you with these cute faces from today after I picked them up from school.

Have a great week!
