Finally a taste of Spring!
The weather here has been wonderful (at least temperature wise) and I am back to and hopefully staying a motivated blogger!
Lots coming up soon!
Moving in a few weeks, very exciting stuff. :) I cannot wait to decorate. Jarred and I finally picked out an affordable couch we both like. It only took about a month of looking. We went to Ashley, Raymore, Ikea, I also looked on Crate and Barrel and West Elm's site. Yes, yes I know some of them are definitely not affordable but we were finding nothing so I had to at least look. We finally found one we both loved at Mealey's. (If you live in the area and need furniture I seriously recommend this pace. Thanks to my sister and my mom for recommending it to me!) Pictures to come once we move in!
Lots of DIYs also in my near future!
My OCD is going nuts and I can't stop going through pinterest and wanting to DIY or buy everything I see. However, I have no clue what will work and what I'll just end up buying stuff to make and not being able to use in our small little townhouse so I'm trying to contain myself until we actually get in there.
I'll definitely be making these cutting boards. I have everything I need minus time and motivation but I have a feeling now that Spring is coming and I won't be back and forth between my house and Jarred's all the time I will actually get to make them!
Also, my parents have been slowly cleaning out the attic here and dug up and old antique entrance table that use to be my grandmother's years ago. The paint is a horrible shade of green courtesy of my mother and is chipping something fierce so of course I want to give it a bit of a face lift and hopefully keep it. While we can't use it in our apartment. I'm hoping to keep it at my parents and use it once we buy a house.
Have a great week!
Since I have been a terrible blogger let's catch up on what has been going on.
Starting off at the beginning of the month-
Jarred's Birthday- 2/6
Well I started this month off with my first trip to the ER. I had the flu and was dehydrated. The flu is no joke. This is my first time ever having it and I honestly thought being hit by a bus would have been more pleasant. So I was down for the count for a good few days. I refused to miss Jarred's birthday though! I went out probably before I should have. He planned dinner with his family on the night of his actual birthday (Friday) I had been in the ER Tuesday. I felt much better! But was still pretty exhausted and worried about getting other sick. Luckily I stayed awake (Felt horrible the next day though - whoops - it was worth it and didn't get anyone sick. So I call that a win.)
He had a reservation for a place in Bethlehem we had been dying to try, The Bookstore Speakeasy. It was awesome! Food was good the atmosphere was super fun too! I'll post more about the details in the next few weeks since were are going back this month (March) for date night.
Valentine's Day - 2/14
Jarred and I spent the weekend at the shore house together. It was great, super lazy weekend.
The only thing we did was go to dinner Saturday night. We went to a place in Margate (a town over from OC, NJ). It was less than stellar. We won't go back. It was an Italian restaurant with sushi? Weird... Anyway we both got different types of lobster and pasta. They were full of lobster and yet I didn't taste even a hint of it :( It was so bland and bad, shame. The weather called for serious 60mph+ winds and snow squalls. It was fine pretty much until we drove home, lucky we live close it was a complete white out by the time we got back into town.
Date Night Weekend - 2/21
We were supposed to head back to the Bookstore Speakeasy to celebrate Jarred's birthday in February, however the snow ruined that plan for us. Since it was about an hour drive for me and my sister and they were calling for 6+ inches in some areas we cancelled that and were going to try to go somewhere closer to us with the kids! The snow started early than they thought and by 5 roads were a mess. So we changed our plans again and went to a place down the street from my sister's house. We ended up having a fantastic time! Jarred and I always love getting to see the kids so we were happy our plans didn't work out as planned.
Beach- 2/28
This past weekend we went to the beach with my parents and my sister's fam. Pretty low key. Games and hanging out. Went to a great new restaurant in downtown OC called Vittorio's Trattoria, soooo good!! They are going to be mobbed this summer. Our waiter convinced me to get the lobster ravioli special and it was one of the bests I've had! Everyone was super happy about their dinners and excited to get back there this summer!
The weather this month has been horrible here! Got hit with some snow/sleet on our way home. Jarred and I avoided being in a car accident by the skin of our teeth. The roads went from okay to horrible. We made it back to my house and spent the afternoon catching up on Walking Dead. :)
Ugh if you read all of this you really must like me.
Now that we're all caught up hopefully I'll be a better blogger and this month catch-up's won't happen again...
