Back in the Spirit

Trying to be a better blogger!

Before all the house drama went down I had been full of Christmas Spirit.  We were supposed to go ice skating in the city the weekend we spent looking at the house. :(
Hopefully I can find some time to sneak that in before the New Year.

I had also made these cookies.  The recipe was for Halloween and I changed it from "Boo Bites" to "Reindeer Treats," how festive!

I'm going to get back on the Christmas wagon seeing as it's coming up so quickly! (as always)
Just finished up my Christmas shopping now all that's left is wrapping.

Just in case someone wants to get me a last minute Christmas gift here was my wishlist this year -

And for now I'll leave you with these cuties (not including the adults)

Have a great Christmas!

House Heartbreak

Hey All!

I really do have good intentions on blogging each week, I really do.  Then the week just gets away from me.

Anyway lets play a little game of catch up.

My birthday was great.  Jarred took me to the Melting Pot on Thursday (the day of my birthday).

Then Friday we went into the city with my sister and brother-in-law for dinner at Ristorante Panorama. Leaving my review off for now.  However you can't go wrong with flights of wine and my all of us acting like flight attendants the entire night.

We had a great time!

Saturday we went to Jarred's work's holiday party.

Now to the not so great stuff in life currently-

So last weekend Jarred and I looked at a house we thought we could afford.  It was a new build and I can't speak for Jarred but it was my dream house I loved it.  I know he loved it to but I'm sure he wouldn't call it his dream house.

We looked at it on Saturday there was only one left available that was being built so I rallied our families to come look at it on Sunday with us.  (Which was also the first time our families were meeting!!)  It went great! Our families really didn't have anything bad to say about it overall, so that's a win in my book.  I called our lender to crunch the numbers for me and it was just a tiny bit more than we were looking to spend.

Dreams crushed.
I seriously don't think I've stopped crying since Monday.  I still haven't given up hope.  I'm reaching out to the builder and several friends who are in the mortgage business.  Trying to exhaust all options before giving up.

I never thought losing a house would be this depressing.  I'm feeling very defeated after spending months searching the internet for houses in the area for us and really haven't come up with a whole lot.  I guess we'll see what happens.  Please cross your fingers and toes that this house miraculously works out.
Until next time which I'm hoping will be soon and in much happier spirits!

'tis the season

Hi All!
I am a serious slacker with this blog these days. Sorry about that.

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season.

Thanksgiving is busy these years with Jarred and I trying to see both of our families.  But hey it works.  For the last 2 years we go to his parents first and have dinner with them early in the afternoon.  Then from there we head to my sisters house and have another dinner! Leggings are a must on Thanksgiving (who am I kidding leggings are always a must for me).  It sounds easy but our families live an hour apart so we spend a lot of the time driving on Thanksgiving.  But it's great.
(Yup these are our selfies... I take what I can get)
(Thanksgiving should be eaten with your hands)

Now that that's out of the way HOORAY it's Christmas time and no one can yell at me anymore for my holiday spirit overload.

This past weekend Jarred and I went into the city for some holiday fun.  Last year we didn't really do anything so this year I'm trying to check off as many things from my to-do list as possible.

We took the train into the city in the afternoon and went to Love Park which has a German Christmas Village during the holidays.  It was adorable.  From there we had a pit stop at Reading Terminal Market until it got dark enough to go see the light show at Franklin Square Park.  Which was great! So very Christmasy of us.  We had a great time.

Sunday my sister and a few of my friends went to Painting with a Twist.  We had a great time up until the last 10 minutes when I ruined my painting.  Who can beat wine and painting!
Anyway this was supposed to be posted on Monday or Tuesday or even Wednesday or Thursday.
But here were are Friday- my bad!

Yesterday was my birthday! Hooray 27!! not. More details on my birthday and this weekend Monday!
That's all for now!
