We Moved!!

Hey all!
It's been a while but at least this time I have a good excuse.  Moving is the worst!

Hope everyone had a great Easter!  Of course we picked Easter weekend to move out so it was a crazy weekend last weekend for us.

I was on Spring Break the week before we moved so I spent the entire week pretty much packing everything up.  Friday my mom dad and friend all headed to the apartment to unpack two cars worth of stuff and CLEAN.  Jarred was working that day so we were all on our own and thanks to the help of each of them got so much done on Friday!

Anyway it's still a work in progress but it's starting to look like a home and I'm almost completely unpacked.  (Minus that I still have a ton of random things left at my parents.)

Easter was spent apart for Jarred and I, we each went to our parents for dinner.
(Easter photos stolen from my sisters)

This weekend is girls weekend at the shore with my mom and my sister! Jarred is away and so is my brother in law.  Hope the weather gets nice soon, it's been rainy here since Tuesday. :(

Have a great weekend!

Spring is Coming!!

Finally a taste of Spring!
The weather here has been wonderful (at least temperature wise) and I am back to and hopefully staying a motivated blogger!

Lots coming up soon!

Moving in a few weeks, very exciting stuff. :) I cannot wait to decorate.  Jarred and I finally picked out an affordable couch we both like.  It only took about a month of looking.  We went to Ashley, Raymore, Ikea, I also looked on Crate and Barrel and West Elm's site.  Yes, yes I know some of them are definitely not affordable but we were finding nothing so I had to at least look.  We finally found one we both loved at Mealey's.  (If you live in the area and need furniture I seriously recommend this pace. Thanks to my sister and my mom for recommending it to me!) Pictures to come once we move in!

Lots of DIYs also in my near future!

My OCD is going nuts and I can't stop going through pinterest and wanting to DIY or buy everything I see. However, I have no clue what will work and what I'll just end up buying stuff to make and not being able to use in our small little townhouse so I'm trying to contain myself until we actually get in there.

I'll definitely be making these cutting boards.  I have everything I need minus time and motivation but I have a feeling now that Spring is coming and I won't be back and forth between my house and Jarred's all the time I will actually get to make them!
(found- here)

Also, my parents have been slowly cleaning out the attic here and dug up and old antique entrance table that use to be my grandmother's years ago.  The paint is a horrible shade of green courtesy of my mother and is chipping something fierce so of course I want to give it a bit of a face lift and hopefully keep it.  While we can't use it in our apartment.  I'm hoping to keep it at my parents and use it once we buy a house.
Have a great week!

February Recap

Since I have been a terrible blogger let's catch up on what has been going on.

Starting off at the beginning of the month-

Jarred's Birthday- 2/6
Well I started this month off with my first trip to the ER.  I had the flu and was dehydrated.  The flu is no joke.  This is my first time ever having it and I honestly thought being hit by a bus would have been more pleasant.  So I was down for the count for a good few days.  I refused to miss Jarred's birthday though!  I went out probably before I should have.  He planned dinner with his family on the night of his actual birthday (Friday) I had been in the ER Tuesday. I felt much better! But was still pretty exhausted and worried about getting other sick.  Luckily I stayed awake (Felt horrible the next day though - whoops - it was worth it and didn't get anyone sick.  So I call that a win.)
He had a reservation for a place in Bethlehem we had been dying to try, The Bookstore Speakeasy.  It was awesome! Food was good the atmosphere was super fun too! I'll post more about the details in the next few weeks since were are going back this month (March) for date night.

Valentine's Day -  2/14
Jarred and I spent the weekend at the shore house together.  It was great, super lazy weekend.
The only thing we did was go to dinner Saturday night.  We went to a place in Margate (a town over from OC, NJ).  It was less than stellar.  We won't go back.  It was an Italian restaurant with sushi? Weird... Anyway we both got different types of lobster and pasta.  They were full of lobster and yet I didn't taste even a hint of it :(  It was so bland and bad, shame. The weather called for serious 60mph+ winds and snow squalls.  It was fine pretty much until we drove home, lucky we live close it was a complete white out by the time we got back into town.

Date Night Weekend - 2/21
We were supposed to head back to the Bookstore Speakeasy to celebrate Jarred's birthday in February, however the snow ruined that plan for us.  Since it was about an hour drive for me and my sister and they were calling for 6+ inches in some areas we cancelled that and were going to try to go somewhere closer to us with the kids! The snow started early than they thought and by 5 roads were a mess. So we changed our plans again and went to a place down the street from my sister's house. We ended up having a fantastic time! Jarred and I always love getting to see the kids so we were happy our plans didn't work out as planned.

Beach- 2/28
This past weekend we went to the beach with my parents and my sister's fam.  Pretty low key. Games and hanging out.  Went to a great new restaurant in downtown OC called Vittorio's Trattoria, soooo good!! They are going to be mobbed this summer.  Our waiter convinced me to get the lobster ravioli special and it was one of the bests I've had! Everyone was super happy about their dinners and excited to get back there this summer!

The weather this month has been horrible here! Got hit with some snow/sleet on our way home.  Jarred and I avoided being in a car accident by the skin of our teeth.  The roads went from okay to horrible. We made it back to my house and spent the afternoon catching up on Walking Dead. :)

Ugh if you read all of this you really must like me.

Now that we're all caught up hopefully I'll be a better blogger and this month catch-up's won't happen again...

Big Changes.

So I am officially the worst blogger ever, I know.
(Side note-I'm actually even worse than I thought.  I was supposed to post this Friday)

Everything just seems so boring to write about these days.  Winter is the worst, it is so un-motivating.
Let's catch up.  There have been a few shore trips. Lots of eating.  Oh and a move happening!
Jarred and I officially stopped house hunting back in January.  Let me tell you it has been glorious!

House hunting was probably the most stressful thing either of us have gone through.  We finally sat down and realized for the good of our relationship we needed to stop.  Within a week we found an apartment and signed a lease! :)  So I have been spending all my free time pinning and shopping.  We move in the first weekend of April.

Two of my best friends are also moving away... While I'm happy for both of them my selfish sides hates every second of it.  Liz is up first, she left for Nantucket (so jealous) on Sunday.  When I met Liz (6 year ago? longer?) if you told me she would end up being one of my best friends I would have laughed at you.  We have gone through it all and keep coming out closer go figure. I don't think she knows how much I really will miss her around here.  But let me tell you I cannot wait to go visit!! :)

Steph leaves this weekend.  She moved back from State College a few weeks ago and is now moving to Lancaster.  While she'll be closer than she was before I am still super bummed she is leaving.  Steph and I have been friends since I was born (literally - her mom brought her down when I was a baby).  I know nothing will ever effect our friendship at this point but I am still super sad she is moving again!

Love you ladies and I will miss you both!

Let's take a trip down memory lane...

Everyone's Obsessed with Jarred...

This is a super fun post.

First I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Mine was good! Went to double date dinner with my sister and brother in law to our favorite place to get amazing mussels in Philly - Monks.  so good.

Looked at a few more houses - I'll post a longer update on that soon I swear.

That's about it for the weekend. - Back to work now almost 1/2 way to summer! Typically the rest of the year will now fly by. :)

Anyway on to the reason for this post.  My niece and nephews are OBSESSED with jarred.

Everything is Jarred it's lame and adorable.

Nora face-timed me the other day and for 2 minutes straight before I hung up on them constantly repeated Jarred's name.  Girlfriend's in love.  Here's the photos to prove it -
Look at the love in her eyes.

On NYE she would walk out of the room Jarred was in and just repeat his name to those of us in the other room.

She had always had a soft spot for him since she was a baby.  It's the cutest.  Her latest is carrying around my phone which has a lock screen of Jarred and I, she'll look at it and point to Jarred saying his name.

The triplets also love Jarred.  Once they SCREAMED his name when he walked in the door.

If you ask them "what does Jarred do" here is their response (and Greg's)-
-
It all started with Tommy getting hurt and unconscionably crying at my parents house months and months ago while Jarred was making this face at him-

Tommy starts laughing and coming up to Jarred trying to cross his arms and make this face back.  He has since perfected the Jarred and now everyone does it.

Such is my life...

(I secretly love how much they all love Uncle Jarred)

Post Christmas Blues

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

I think I ended up with all my wishlist items and more! Great job everyone!! :)

It was a crazy holiday as always.

We start off the holidays by getting together with my dad's side of the family the Sunday before Christmas.

Its pretty much insane but one of my favorite traditions.  The kids are starting to outnumber the adults!

Next up is Christmas Eve - I typically go to church with my Momma then my sister and brother-in-law bring the kiddies over to see our town's firetrucks going through the neighborhood with Santa.

some Christmas eve read and green

Christmas Day after my brother and sister and their families do their Christmas morning they all come over to my parents house we have another Christmas morning present opening shit show.  The kids seem to enjoy it more and more each year.  As long as they each get the exact same gifts.  We all have brunch then go our separate ways for the afternoon.

Then my parents have family over for dinner.
Jarred typically does his own thing almost the same thing m family does - Christmas morning then dinner.  So I don't see him until after dinner.  This year not until around 11pm. :(
Next year we'll have to figure out a better arrangement.
Christmas was fantastic as always.  I hate how it ends so quickly though. :(
This week I have spent thinking of ways to buy things for our house that I can use for storage at my parents house now.  Ikea is amazing.  Minus that I see such adorable ideas for their stuff on pinterest only to find out what I now want is discontinued.  Grr Ikea.
Hope everyone had a great new year! Looking forward to what 2015 has to bring! Hopefully a new house.  More updates on the house hunt soon!
