Back in the Spirit

Trying to be a better blogger!

Before all the house drama went down I had been full of Christmas Spirit.  We were supposed to go ice skating in the city the weekend we spent looking at the house. :(
Hopefully I can find some time to sneak that in before the New Year.

I had also made these cookies.  The recipe was for Halloween and I changed it from "Boo Bites" to "Reindeer Treats," how festive!

I'm going to get back on the Christmas wagon seeing as it's coming up so quickly! (as always)
Just finished up my Christmas shopping now all that's left is wrapping.

Just in case someone wants to get me a last minute Christmas gift here was my wishlist this year -

And for now I'll leave you with these cuties (not including the adults)

Have a great Christmas!

House Heartbreak

Hey All!

I really do have good intentions on blogging each week, I really do.  Then the week just gets away from me.

Anyway lets play a little game of catch up.

My birthday was great.  Jarred took me to the Melting Pot on Thursday (the day of my birthday).

Then Friday we went into the city with my sister and brother-in-law for dinner at Ristorante Panorama. Leaving my review off for now.  However you can't go wrong with flights of wine and my all of us acting like flight attendants the entire night.

We had a great time!

Saturday we went to Jarred's work's holiday party.

Now to the not so great stuff in life currently-

So last weekend Jarred and I looked at a house we thought we could afford.  It was a new build and I can't speak for Jarred but it was my dream house I loved it.  I know he loved it to but I'm sure he wouldn't call it his dream house.

We looked at it on Saturday there was only one left available that was being built so I rallied our families to come look at it on Sunday with us.  (Which was also the first time our families were meeting!!)  It went great! Our families really didn't have anything bad to say about it overall, so that's a win in my book.  I called our lender to crunch the numbers for me and it was just a tiny bit more than we were looking to spend.

Dreams crushed.
I seriously don't think I've stopped crying since Monday.  I still haven't given up hope.  I'm reaching out to the builder and several friends who are in the mortgage business.  Trying to exhaust all options before giving up.

I never thought losing a house would be this depressing.  I'm feeling very defeated after spending months searching the internet for houses in the area for us and really haven't come up with a whole lot.  I guess we'll see what happens.  Please cross your fingers and toes that this house miraculously works out.
Until next time which I'm hoping will be soon and in much happier spirits!

'tis the season

Hi All!
I am a serious slacker with this blog these days. Sorry about that.

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season.

Thanksgiving is busy these years with Jarred and I trying to see both of our families.  But hey it works.  For the last 2 years we go to his parents first and have dinner with them early in the afternoon.  Then from there we head to my sisters house and have another dinner! Leggings are a must on Thanksgiving (who am I kidding leggings are always a must for me).  It sounds easy but our families live an hour apart so we spend a lot of the time driving on Thanksgiving.  But it's great.
(Yup these are our selfies... I take what I can get)
(Thanksgiving should be eaten with your hands)

Now that that's out of the way HOORAY it's Christmas time and no one can yell at me anymore for my holiday spirit overload.

This past weekend Jarred and I went into the city for some holiday fun.  Last year we didn't really do anything so this year I'm trying to check off as many things from my to-do list as possible.

We took the train into the city in the afternoon and went to Love Park which has a German Christmas Village during the holidays.  It was adorable.  From there we had a pit stop at Reading Terminal Market until it got dark enough to go see the light show at Franklin Square Park.  Which was great! So very Christmasy of us.  We had a great time.

Sunday my sister and a few of my friends went to Painting with a Twist.  We had a great time up until the last 10 minutes when I ruined my painting.  Who can beat wine and painting!
Anyway this was supposed to be posted on Monday or Tuesday or even Wednesday or Thursday.
But here were are Friday- my bad!

Yesterday was my birthday! Hooray 27!! not. More details on my birthday and this weekend Monday!
That's all for now!

Weekend Recap

Hey all!

Lots going on over here lately.

Went to the shore for a girls weekend with my mom and my sister.  We had a great time.

We went to eat at La Fontana Coast in Sea Isle.  I have some pretty strong feelings about this place and I think this might be my first negative review.  Bummer.  Anyway my sister had made a reservation prior to us going.  When we got there the restaurant was fairly empty and we were seated the 3 of us at a 2 top.  (This would have been fine if we had not made a reservation and the place was packed).
So I stew for a while before I go up to the manager and ask for a different table.  He not so nicely lets me know that we can sit at the table directly next to the door or nothing (mind you we had been out in the cold all day) so we decline that choice.  The way he handled this matter was so very arrogant.
However the rest of the dinner was great.  Our waitress was outstanding and very compassionate to our table situation.  And the food was wonderful.  I however would choose not to give my business to this restaurant as a result of their manager's lack of professionalism.

The rest of the weekend was great we went shopping and bike riding down the boardwalk.
And I also had my first Brown's donut! Yum! I cannot believe I've been vacationing in OCNJ my whole live and have never had a donut from Browns. I have been seriously missing out on their awesomeness.

Any who,  Jarred and I looked at our dream house on Sunday afternoon.  Turns out our dreams were ruined when we realized that pictures are not everything. :(  It was a great experience and our first time looking at a house so here's to great things to come soon! And a great start to our house hunting journey. Can't wait to find our perfect home.

Yesterday was the triplets 3rd birthday!! Happy Birthday Kevin, Tommy and John.

Poor kids their mom got trick candles. (way to go kate! haha)

(Please excuse my brother - he thinks he's funny) J

Happy Birthday Boys!

Life Lately

Hey All!
So I know it's been forever since I blogged but I really haven't been doing much.  Honestly today was the first time in a long time I looked at my blog and saw the date of my last post and I cannot believe it was that long ago since I posted about anything.  Life seems so rush by so quickly these days.

I need to start Pinteresting more to get some holiday DIY ideas.

In the past month-
My family went to the shore for OCNJs Fall Fest.  As always it rained... Which sucks but we has a good time anyway.  Love hanging with these cuties-
My nephew Dean turned 3!
Lots of new fun eating spots-
Honey in Doylestown is amazing but pricey. Go with more than 2 people so you can try everything.

Blue Duck in Philadelphia is PHENOMINAL.  Go there.
This is pretty much my favorite time of year.  I love the holidays especially going through the seasons.  I could never live anywhere that didn't have Fall or Winter. It's beautiful.

Last year I made a Holiday To Do list (Longwood Gardens/Ice Skating Downtown - nauseating adorable things like that that I'm sure are at the top of Jarred's list of things to never do-sorry babe get ready!) and I'm pretty sure I wasn't able to check anything off that list. :(

This year however, I plan to do all my Christmas shopping ASAP to get it out of the way so I can really just enjoy the season.  After Thanksgiving every year I feel like I close my eyes and it's Christmas.  I'm always rushing around doing last minute things then it's over.  Hopefully this year I can change that a bit.

Well now that we're all caught up. Have a great week!

Weekend Recap

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
This weekend went by way too fast for me.

We went out of town for a wedding this past weekend for Jarred's coworker with Jarred's brother and his brother's girlfriend. We had a fantastic time and the wedding was adorable.  I will probably steal all of the bride's ideas one day!

The venue was beautiful, if only it wasn't so far I would have my own wedding there!

Have a great week!
